Why Vimbly Group?

At Vimbly Group, you’ll work side-by-side with proven talent, creative intelligence, and smiley faces (with firm but nonpainful handshakes) — out of our office in the best city in the world, right across from the Empire State Building. Your decisions, analysis, and work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the product. We aren’t looking for another cog in the wheel. You will be given significant responsibility and independence. You will be challenged. At Vimbly Group, you’re empowered to make a difference. “Make it happen” is our first core value.

Our perks

Our perks

We understand that work and release are each improved when the other isn’t compromised. So Vimbly Group has institutionalized some important comforts. Monthly masseuse. Unlimited Amazon reading budget. Wine & cheese Thursdays. Unlimited snacks & drinks. Monthly group outings. A weekend summer retreat upstate. You also get a monthly activity budget to choose your own adventure, along with free movie tickets and museum passes. And if running is for you (we don’t all agree here), Vimbly Group pays all fees for races hosted by New York Road Runners (e.g., the NY marathon). Finally, be sure to ask about the giant Pikachu.

React.js Developer

We are looking for a front-end developer with a burning passion for building beautiful, detailed and polished user experiences, and a track record of being reliable and efficient. This role is not simply about being able to take a design and having it render on a browser: we are seeking a candidate with deep experience with the React framework and an ability to implement front-end design and business logic in a modular and scalable fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with leadership on implementing deep, detailed and targeted user experiences
  • Write scalable, factored and cross-browser compatible markup
  • Take responsibility for front-end architecture and ensure scalability of React-based projects
  • Work closely with back-end and design teams to build enterprise-class software
  • Take ownership of multiple projects and learn new technologies over time

Requirements

  • Expert-level experience working within React framework
  • Expert-level command of front-end development and implementation (HTML5, CSS3, JS)
  • Deep knowledge of modern JS ECMA6 syntax and best practices
  • Broad experience implementing precise and detailed responses to user interactions
  • Knowledge of Git version control
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent

Optional Bonus Points

  • Experience developing with Typescript
  • Experience developing pages in other popular JS framework environments (Angular, Vue, etc.)
  • Experience working with front-end rendering libraries (d3, charting, etc.)
  • User interface or user experience design

Benefits

  • 100% employer-covered health, dental & vision insurance
  • Unlimited vacation days (just get your work done)
  • Activity budget to try items on Vimbly — try one, try them all!
  • Personal movie outings (you’ll get more pairs of movie tickets than you’re able to use — so you’ll know the contrast from a Vimbly activity!)
  • Unlimited Amazon reading budget to buy any book you please
  • Unlimited snacks & drinks readily available in the office
  • Monthly social outings (Laser tag and paintball? Coming right up…)
  • Monthly massage, monthly manicure, and monthly wine & cheese… except they come to you

If this sounds like you…

Email your resume to dev-recruiting+frontend@vimblygroup.com with “Front-End Developer — Your Name” in the subject line (but write your actual name that you go by instead of “Your Name”). In the body of the email, describe your views on React’s greatest drawbacks and how you mitigate them.
